Our practice has been up and running for years but we just launched our blog, and we wanted to share a little info about our providers so our followers, colleagues and future patients could learn a little about who we are and what makes us tick!
Dr. Sonali P. Majmudar, MD, takes great joy in providing excellent care to her patients (adults and kids) and builds lasting relationships with everyone who comes through her doors. She specializes in a wide variety of allergy and asthma conditions, (i.e. food and environmental allergies, asthma, eczema, and mast cell disease) and enjoys personalizing care to best meet the needs of her patients. Dr. Majmudar is considered a leader in her field and stays current on the latest advancements as a respected speaker on various topics, including atopic dermatitis, urticaria, and novel asthma treatments.
Having graduated with top honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Majmudar completed her Residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, and her Fellowship in Allergy & Immunology from Rush University Medical Center.
She started her own practice, Majmudar Allergy, in 2000 and has since garnered extensive experience through serving her patients in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicagoland. Krista Mohamed, PA-C joined Majmudar Allergy in 2023 and is committed to providing personalized and comprehensive care to patients of all ages. She specializes in environmental and food allergies, atopic skin diseases, mast cell disease, angioedema and asthma treatments.
According to Krista: “my favorite to treat are mast cell disorders and different types of angioedema. I also love treating kids with food allergies as I can truly empathize with them. I have a daughter who is anaphylactic to peanuts.”
Krista graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology and went on to graduate from the respected Physician Associate program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she graduated with top honors. Prior to working in the field of allergy, asthma, immunology, Krista was in the cardiothoracic surgery specialty. She enjoys teaching patients and prioritizes their understanding of both the diagnosis and the treatment plan. She is the biologic coordinator for the practice, ensuring that patients get the approval for the medication needed.
In her free time, Krista enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, traveling, fitness and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. To learn more about Krista: click here to read her full bio!
